Food for thought about choosing a wedding photographer!
Bride : “Honey, who do we want taking pictures at our wedding? Do we want your aunt to take pictures like she did for your brother or do we find a local photographer?”
Groom : “We could ask Aunt Sally, but she did get kind of stressed at my brothers wedding. She was always taking pictures so she didn’t enjoy the wedding at all. Let’s just find somebody locally that is affordable.”
Bride: “Where do we start, there are so many different photographers?”
Groom: “Let’s just look in the phone book and start asking prices. We can go with the cheapest because they are all alike. All they do is take pictures and give us prints. How hard is that? Besides Aunt Sally will get to have fun at our wedding.”
Bride: “Ok! That sounds good, we could look on the internet too. Hopefully we can find a decent one that’s cheap.”
When looking for a photographer, affordable is a key thought for most couples. Let’s look at a different point of view when choosing a photographer.
What do you want out of your photographer? Do you want someone that shows up and takes pictures randomly, someone that limits you on a time-frame (an added stress for you to keep in mind throughout your special day), or someone that will have fun with you at no extra cost?
We suggest meeting with a few photographers face-to-face to look at their samples and styles. Here are a few things to consider:
1. Is their style of photography what you want?
2. Does their personality work with your or does it clash? If
there is an issue here walk away.
3. Are they in the price range you can afford? If they are really
what you want, you might think about shopping around
and saving money in a different area.
4. Are they going to take the photos you want?
We hope you get the idea.
